Steamboat Springs — The Town Challenge mountain bike race scheduled for tonight at Howelsen Hill has been cancelled because of rain.
Race Director Gretchen Sehler said the showers that have blanketed Steamboat Springs most of the day have made trails too wet for riding.
The June 11 Thunderhead Hill Climb at Howelsen Hill is still scheduled. The race was moved from the ski area to Howelsen because of snow. Registration for that race starts at 4:45 p.m. Children's events start at 5:30 p.m. and adult events are scheduled for 6 p.m.
