  Why you should go: More than 20 local and regional artists contributed hand-designed ostrich eggs for the Eggs 2 Ovaries event, which will raise funds through a silent auction May 17 for education, detection and awareness of ovarian cancer in Routt County. A free sneak preview of the eggs is this week, with a reception tonight at K. Saari Gallery.

Saturday

• Routt County Riders’ fourth annual Bike Swap

• “The Wizard of Oz,” presented by Steamboat Springs Middle School

  Why you should go: The show’s cast and crew boast about 75 student participants apiece, and the production is aided by about 50 faculty members and 50 parent volunteers. Throw in some classic showtunes and flying monkeys, and you’ve got a standout community theater production.
