Michele Shimomura tries to maintain a small lead on Angie Mangiardi near the end of Sunday’s Continental Divide trail run. The race had 55 runners show up and led them on a 16-mile course. The race went by the first and second Fish Creek waterfalls and Long Lake before finishing at the top of the gondola at the Steamboat Ski Area.


Brandon Munn rides in the Pat Mantle Saddle Bronc riding competition Saturday at the Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series. Munn won the competition for the second time, adding the 2008 title to his 2004 victory. He collected a belt buckle for winning the season-long saddle bronc riding championship and $684 for winning the weekend’s competition.
