Kelly McElfish’s boyfriend Pat Nugent discovered he had cancer five months after the couple started dating. McElfish stayed with Nugent through his battle with cancer until his death three years later. The loss of her friend has motivated McElfish to get involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
