A reflection shows skiers gathering at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area on Friday morning as a small sign near the gondola entrance proclaims the total snowfall for the year to be a new record of 450 inches.


The Steamboat Ski Area reported 4 inches of new snow this morning, establishing a new single-season snowfall record of 450 inches.


Makayla Suriano-Husman takes a break from searching for eggs to roll in the hay during the 32nd Annual Egg Hunt on April 7, 2007, at Howelsen Hill. The children searched for eggs and also had a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, who arrived via the Barrows Chairlift down Howelsen Hill.


A "sap pocket" is a sign of a beetle-invested tree. The pocket forms when the tree pushes sap out of the holes carved by burrowing beetles.

The Steamboat Springs Peewee A team holds up its second-place state tournament banner Sunday. The team beat a Denver team in the semifinals, 3-1, before falling to the Mountain State Renegades, 7-1, in the championship game.
