I like The West theatre in Craig. And if you like old movies - http://www.publicdomainflicks.com/

The new movie complex in Junction behind Home Depot is cool too…..

I've come to the conclusion that all dog owners in Steamboat are inconsiderate and have very low IQ's. That should make you dog owning forum readers mad, but if the shoe fits wear it.

There was a doughnut shop in Ski Times Square for a while in the 70's. Owned and run by a grumpy little old man that could really make great doughnuts. He was kind of mean to the tourists, but treated the locals OK.

On Should some of the city’s revenues from the half-cent sales tax for education be shared with Hayden and South Routt school districts?

You're going to pay the tax anyway, don't let greed keep ALL the students in Routt county from getting a first class education.

It's not like the superintendents of Hayden & SoRoCo were even asking for a three way split to begin with. Those school districts are so underfunded that a measly 2 or 3% would make a huge difference in their budgets. If SSSD can afford to put a big screen HDTV in every classroom, then they obviously aren't having budget problems like the other school districts are.

I'll bet you people who voted no don't like to see homeless people get fed a free Thanksgiving dinner either - even if it didn't come out of your pocket. For that matter, how many of you have ever donated to Lift-Up?

I don't care what kind of flame my post generates - you can rationalize your greedy natures any way you want - it won't change the facts. The majority of you pompous, self centered posters would never have the courage to say to someone in person what you rant about on this forum, you're all spineless worms.

When I saw the picture in the Craig paper of the dispicable Mexicans lined up against that white cinder block wall I figured they must be facing a firing squad.

I hate everyone and everything because it's so gratifying, and makes me feel better about myself.

And oh, I am always right (about everything).

another_local - got me on a technicallity. But you missed the underlying point of my post. Let me try again.

After a disscusion with a local small business owner where I expressed an interest in having a Barnes and Nobel in Steamboat, I was firmly told that anything they could offer at B&N could be found at Off the Beaten Path (in yer dreams) and I should be contributing to the local economy, not the profits of an international corporation.

A few days later I saw that same individual in Walmart bying a video cable that could have come from Alpine Electronics.

The people that don't want bigbox in stmbt, are the individuals that stand to lose a percentage of their profits when major retailers locate here, but when it saves THEM money, where do they shop?

Don't forget, the poor slobs trying to enjoy life here by catering to the whims of people with bottemless bank accounts have to be able to afford to live here.

Is Staples considered “Big Box”? I'll bet Pilot Office Supply thinks they are. I'd imagine Staples saves the members of the Chamber Resort Ass. lots of money for their small busineess supplies though. They sure put up a fuss about a Walgreens, but I never heard a word of oppistion about Staples. Didn't Pilot Office Supply go to any of the Chamber mixers?

If Ray and his cops were doing a super job, you'd never hear a single word from anybody.

If Ray and his cops were doing a marginal job, you'd hear noisy complaints from everybody.

If you go to a new restaurant and the food and service are excellent, you don't go home and phone all your friends and tell them how great it was.

If you go to a new restaurant and the food and service are just OK, you go home and phone all your friends telling them how terrible it was.

Never judge a cop until you have rode a mile in his patrol car.

Ok - I'm ready to be flamed for my opinion now, bring it on.

Dang, I am rich! I sit at home and make $180.00 an hour and have to turn down new clients because I don't have time. You all can go dig in the snow all you want for a measly hundred bucks.
I'm anything but a tightwad - I spread my money around to friends and family to the tune of about $6000.00 every year at christmas. That's why a measly $100.00 seems like nothing to me.

And you all missed my point in the first place - a community as afluent as SS should be able to make you poor slobs happier than a hundred bucks worth of happy.

Most of the idiots on this forum are brainwashed from watching to many Lexus commercials on TV.
