A couple minor corrections.
Please note the tuesday, Nov 11th Meeting is at the South Routt Elementary School, 448 East Main Street in YAMPA (not Oak Creek as listed in the call-out box).

Vision 2030 Co-Chairs are Marsha Daughenbaugh and Kathy Stokes, while Tammie Delaney is the Project Manager.

The Vision 2030 Citizens Committee has been listening and learning about Routt County residents priorities and values over the past year and these Gatherings help us determine if we've heard it correctly. Please come join us at our meeting in South Routt on Tuesday 11/11 or West Routt on Monday 11/17!

As Strawberry Park was my childhood home, I'll attest that this road is a gem in our community for ALL types of road users. horse, bike, pedestrian or vehicle. Strawberry Park road/RCR 36 lets our community access the 'countryside' within a couple of minutes and still is a place that's relatively safe for riding bikes with kids, riding your horse within close proximity to town or going for a quiet walk.

Part of the narrow lane striping aspect WAS to intentionally slow traffic speed due to the heavy multi-use aspect. It's not just bikers, folks, walkers, equestrians and more use this as a quick loop in and out of town.

Speed of vehicles has always been an issue on this road due to the multi-use aspect. Yes, even when it was dirt and before the intersection of Amethyst & 36. The more that can be done to encourage this extraordinary route be recognized as a multi-use road rather than a highway the better and thanks Diane Mitsch-Bush for recognizing that this is one of those 'special places' where we can still ride our horse, bike or take a walk just moments from town!

It's places like Strawberry Park, that let us still feel like open spaces and countryside are still part of Steamboat's heritage.

Transportation is an issue that Vision 2030 is hearing lots of concern towards, both at the Gatherings last November and on surveys. (Vision 2030 is a County-wide citizen's led effort). If you haven't done so yet, please complete a Vision 2030 survey at http://vision2030routt.org/ (there's survey links at both right and middle of page). In reviewing past recommendations from the 1994 effort, all the recommendations that had a citizen's led component (e.g. PDR; First Impressions; Recycling among others) found great success—Transportation definitely needs a citizens-led component and kudos to Fred for bringing this forward! Please make sure your voice is included and visit www.vision2030routt.org — more info is on the 'About' link on left of page!

We finally visited Quinteros about a week ago and it was so amazing we found ourselves there again last night. The best mexican food I've ever had, great service, and they've definitely upscaled the atmosphere. We're grateful to have such an amazing restaurant here in Hayden!

On Should some of the city’s revenues from the half-cent sales tax for education be shared with Hayden and South Routt school districts?

PLEASE share the 1/2 cent County-wide! Many residents of Soroco and West Routt commute and are employed in the Steamboat stores that generate the sales tax (would they be able to exist without this staffing??). With very limited retail in outlying communities, shopping is primarily done in Steamboat as well. Although the population is growing County-wide, Soroco & West Routt enrollments are declining & with expenses increasing at double the rates of revenues, funding for these schools is at almost a crisis level. If trends continue, Steamboat might find itself having to absorb these districts. Education of future generations benefits everyone! The 1/2 cent sales tax is an incredible tool and a needed funding resource for our education system, but we need to think regionally!
