Secretshopper posted the following comment on the article about the dog park proposal:
"Wow Steamboat Pilot, Top story? A teacher dies in an avalanche, and this is your top story?"
I agree that the story about the teacher killed in an avalanche is an important news story. It leads our local section. However, the top story on the Web is driven to some degree by the availability of a photo.
We became aware of Paul Maniaci's death late Sunday. I feel for him, his family, friends and students. We hope to have follow-up information in Tuesday's newspaper.
