Serving Older Adults in Routt, or SOAR, will host its third annual BBQ, Beers & Bags Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, June 28.
The organization is seeking artists to create unique artworks on cornhole sets. The completed sets are used during the tournament and then placed in a silent auction. The artist with the highest bid receives a special prize from one of the tournament sponsors.
All proceeds from BBQ, Beers & Bags directly support SOAR’s operations. Formerly the Routt County Council on Aging, SOAR provides older adults with nutritious meals, opportunities for social connection, and more, with services designed to help older adults stay in their community — and their own homes — for as long as possible.
The double-elimination tournament will also feature live music from Slice of Pie and top prizes from Wild West Balloon Adventures, Steamboat Boat Rentals and OHANA.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Steamboat Community Center. Artists interested in participating, or those interested in competing in the tournament, can contact park@soarroutt.org or call 970-879-0633.
