When patients need a blood draw at UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center, they are now greeted with cheery murals in two of the draw rooms to help take their minds off the process.

The hospital’s blood draw lab underwent a seven-month renovation project that included a slight expansion of the space as well as two murals created by local artists Kristina Petrash and Erin Branscum. The murals were funded by the Yampa Valley Medical Center Foundation.

The completed lab renovation now offers two registration desks for improved patient flow, three blood draw rooms, increased efficiencies in the clinical lab, updated furniture and a more spacious feel.
