Body found along Walton Creek Road identified as Saratoga man

A body was found near the intersection of Owl Hoot Trail and Walton Creek Road, at 4:11 p.m. Thursday. 

According to a statement made by the city at around 9 p.m. Thursday, Steamboat Springs Police Department has identified the deceased individual and notified next of kin. 

The Routt County Coroner confirmed the man to be 30-year-old Jordan Antonio Gutierrez Castrillo from Saratoga, Wyoming.



Castrillo was previously reported missing on Nov. 5 by law enforcement in Saratoga, said the statement.

According to the missing persons report, the man was a resident of Saratoga and frequently visited Steamboat Springs.



The investigation is still ongoing, however, there are currently no indications of foul play.

An autopsy has not yet been conducted. The cause of death is still unknown.

“SSPD extend our condolences to the family and appreciate the public’s patience as the investigation continues to determine the circumstances surrounding this case,” said the statement.
