The Routt County Wildfire Mitigation Council is set to host the inaugural Smoke in the Air pickleball tournament fundraiser Sept. 21, at the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex.

The tournament will be a round robin style doubles competition where no two teams will be the same for each game, adding a dynamic component to the event.

Smoke in the Air is open to players age 18 and over and food and drinks will be provided. Registration is a $100 donation per person with a goal of raising $5,000 to support local fire mitigation efforts such as the county-wide chipping program, resident rebate programs and service provider professional development about best mitigation practices.

Only 64 total player spots are available.

To register for the event, visit RouttWildfire.org/events.
