Steamboat Springs Police Department to host Behind the Badge series
The Steamboat Springs Police Department is hosting a series of informational sessions with members of the department called Behind the Badge, inviting community members to get to know local police officers.
The first session will take place at 5:30 p.m. April 10 in the community room at 2027 Shield Drive, featuring the Routt County school resource officers, Det. Lisa Eifling and Deputy Stephen Harbison.
“Steamboat Springs is relatively a small community and it’s important to know the men and women who serve it and the issues they are dealing with on a daily basis,” said Police Chief Mark Beckett in a statement. “Behind the Badge looks to share those stories, engage in open conversations and strengthen the connection between the community and department.”
Eifling and Harbison will have open and candid conversations with community members and host a question-and-answer session.
“If you have a student, this is your opportunity to meet the people behind the badge and engage in an open conversation about the role SROs play in keeping schools safe,” states a news release. “Creating a safe and positive learning environment is a team effort between SROs and parents, and they want to hear from you.”
