Strings Music Festival names new marketing director

Michelle Geib has stepped into the position of marketing director for the Strings Music Festival, filling the position formerly held by Elizabeth Diamond, who has transitioned into a full-time development role.

“It’s just super-exciting to be involved in something that has such a big impact in our community,” said Geib, a self-described music lover. “It will be great to, as a benefit of my position, be able to attend a lot of these shows and events, but also just continue the work that we’re able to do with regards to getting music and musical education out to the community. I think that’s important as well.”

Geib moved to Steamboat Springs in 2012 and became a volunteer with Strings in 2019, where she held volunteer positions as a ticket scanner and usher. She was named marketing director two weeks ago. She will take over marketing and sales responsibilities, allowing Diamond to shift her priorities to focus on the development side.

“Previously, she was doing both our development and all our donor outreach as a nonprofit, as well as marketing, and now we’re splitting that into two director positions,” Geib said. “So she is definitely still here and putting all of her efforts into Strings.”

Geib said the Strings Music Festival is rolling through the spring with tickets still available for We’re Not Clowns on March 8, Michael Marcagi on March 9, Eileen Ivers on March 15 and Big Richard on March 22. Kevin Nealon on March 20 and Ricky Mitch & The Coal Miners on March 21 are sold out — those interested in attending can call the box office to get on the waitlist.
