The Arapahoe Basin IFSA 2 competition ran March 10-11 with icy conditions more suited for a World Cup slalom venue than a Big Mountain competition.

Nevertheless, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes brought home a stack of medals following impressive performances at the challenging venue.

The series began March 10 in West Zuma Bowl where “Sending Sasha” Wodnick carved her way to a second place in the U15 Female Ski division.

For the U15 Male Ski division, Banks Ward took home the silver medal with Cooper Churchley joining him on the podium with a bronze.

The competition continued into March 11 with two competitions at A-Basin where the U19 women of Molly Grady and Zoe Chase dominated the challenging course with second- and fourth-place finishes, respectively.

For the U19 men, Ryan Montgomery gained cheers after a massive 360 on the venue’s largest feature. He walked away with a gold medal while Talon Flesicher and Oscar Dalzell took fifth and sixth.

Further down the Zuma Ridge was the second event of the day where Skai Knapp turned heads with a launch off the diving board for fourth place. Anderson Agopian aired over a tree gap for sixth.

In the single plank world, Madden Broyles surfed through to claim gold.
