Flights to Yampa Valley Regional Airport are set to expand this summer with United Airlines announcing increased service to and from Denver and Los Angeles.
According to a news release from the Steamboat Resort, United is set to offer a larger, mainline aircraft for its Denver flights and, for the first time ever, will add a new nonstop flight to Los Angeles.
Additionally, Southwest Airlines has committed to continue to offer year-round, non-winter air service between Denver and Yampa Valley Regional Airport.
“Continued service expansion to Steamboat through Hayden Airport during non-winter months are a testament to the continued success of the airline program,” said Dave Hunter, president and chief operating officer of the Steamboat Resort, in a statement.
“The larger aircraft and new Los Angeles flights from United as well as Southwest flights continuing year-round, improves access to and from Steamboat for both guests and locals to enjoy our community in all seasons,” he added.
According to the news release, United will operate a nonstop flight from Los Angeles on Saturdays from June 14 to Aug. 16. The airline will also offer a nonstop flight from Houston on Friday and Saturday evenings that will depart from the Hayden airport on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
United’s Denver service will continue its Denver service in the spring, summer and fall with flights up to three times daily on an Airbus A319 aircraft — the larger aircraft will provide more cabin space with 126 seats and allow for additional checked and carry-on bag space.
Southwest’s service will offer five times a week flights from Denver from April 6 to June 4. The airline will then move to once-a-day service to Denver from June 7 to Aug. 5 before returning to five times a week flights Aug. 5 – Nov. 1.
