Walk to End Alzheimer’s set for Sept. 7
Registration and activities for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the Yampa Valley start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept, 7, at West Lincoln Park, 1305 Lincoln Ave. in Steamboat Springs.
Organizers hope hundreds of residents will come to walk and show their support for the estimated 90,800 Coloradans who are living with and fighting devastating Alzheimer’s disease.
A Promise Garden Ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 7 with the walk immediately following. The walk from the park will follow the Yampa River Core Trail to the Howelsen Complex and back. Well-behaved dogs on leash, children and strollers are welcome.
The walk is free but donations are encouraged. More volunteers are needed to help with this year’s walk.
Registration also is available in advance online at Act.alz.org/steamboat. For questions or to volunteer, contact Heidi Wheeler at 303-953-6922 or hkwheeler@alz.org.
