Letter: Casey’s Pond provides many important services in our community

My husband and I were stunned by the recent news that Casey’s Pond had been placed in receivership, and staggered by what the loss of this highly valued facility would mean to Steamboat Springs.

We both retired from employment in New Jersey, and chose Steamboat in 2015 for the next phase of our lives. Many things attracted us here for year-round living, including family, arts and music, outdoor activities, good medical care and senior care.

Casey’s Pond provides many necessary and important services to the community, and I would like to urge our community leaders to unite in support of Casey’s Pond and its residents. The highly reputed facility has often been a selling point to those interested in residing here full time.

Its loss would be felt across many venues, not to mention the negative impact on residents. To get a small sense of its community impact, read “Casey’s Pond Senior Living Reviews” on their website.
